Practising Teacher Criteria and e-learning
This resource illustrates how e-learning examples can be used to support the
Practising Teacher Criteria. The twelve criteria have been "unpacked" with examples provided for each criteria. While the Teachers Council were not involved in the creation of this resource, their feedback was sought in the consultation phase and they link to this page from their website.
Meeting The Teacher's Criteria
Teachers and schools can decide how to best make use of this information in relation to their individual contexts. Some suggestions on how to use this content include:
- teachers identifying how their current practice in e-learning relates to the criteria in order to record this in official appraisal documents
- teachers using the examples of how other educators incorporate e-learning in relation to the clriteria in order to develop their own practice and set goals
- school leaders supporting teachers to develop goals related to the criteria which incorporate e-learning.

This year I have created and experimented with mixed ability groups across Reading, Writing and Maths. The children are working towards learning goals. In reading they have their own Novels and then we discuss their learning goal from the context of their book. This has helped with interest of the text and also has reinforced the fact that they need to know their LG, SOS and the evidence from within the text. Engagement has been higher as they have selected the book themselves. They have a shared on line work book that they have group conversations on.
